Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Foursome ("we," "us," or "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Foursome mobile application. Foursome is operated as an individual project by Ryan Wanamaker. By using Foursome, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and an authentication identifier so we can sign you in. You may also optionally provide a profile photo.
- Availability data. When you indicate your weekend availability inside the app, we store the days and time windows you mark as available.
- Group membership. We store which Foursome crews you belong to and your role within them.
- Google user data (Google Calendar). If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, we access read-only event data (event start times, end times, and busy/free status) from the Google Calendar API to help you and your crew see when you are available.
- Device and diagnostic data. We collect crash reports and basic device information (device model, operating system version) through Sentry to help us diagnose problems. This data is not used for advertising.
2. How we use Google user data
Foursome requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly scope. We use Google Calendar data only to:
- Determine when you are busy or free during the weekend windows you choose to monitor.
- Display your availability to other members of your Foursome crew so you can coordinate tee times.
We do not:
- Read event titles, descriptions, attendees, locations, or any other event details beyond busy/free time blocks.
- Modify, create, or delete events in your Google Calendar.
- Use Google user data to train, develop, or improve generalized or non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- Sell, rent, or share Google user data with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.
- Use Google user data to serve ads of any kind.
3. Google API Services User Data Policy
Foursome's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. How we store and protect your data
Account data, availability data, and refresh tokens for Google Calendar access are stored in Supabase, a managed Postgres database service. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest using AES-256. Access to the production database is restricted to the application's authenticated services and to Ryan Wanamaker as the sole administrator.
Google OAuth refresh tokens are stored in encrypted form and used solely to refresh access to the Calendar API on your behalf. Access tokens are short-lived and not persisted.
5. Sharing your data
We do not sell your data. We share data only with the following service providers, each of whom is contractually limited to processing data on our behalf:
- Supabase — application database and authentication.
- Sentry — crash reporting and diagnostics.
- Apple / Google — push notification delivery, when you opt in.
We will disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
6. Data retention and deletion
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from the Settings screen inside Foursome, which will revoke our access and delete any stored refresh tokens for your account.
You can request full deletion of your account and all associated data — including any cached Google user data — by emailing ryanlax37@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
You can also revoke Foursome's access to your Google account directly at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, port, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at ryanlax37@gmail.com.
8. Children's privacy
Foursome is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email.
